A starship follows a route through a corrupted region of deep space toward Earth in Project Infinite Horizons.

Welcome to Character Sheet Studios.

We are a small Canadian game studio based in British Columbia, shaped by multinational roots and a lifelong love of tabletop RPGs, strategy games, strange worlds, and hard choices.

The studio is built around a simple idea:

Play who you become.

For us, that means games where the story is not only told through cutscenes or quest text. It is told through the decisions you make, the risks you take, the systems you learn, the people you bring with you, and the consequences that follow.

We are interested in games where your choices leave a mark. Not just on the world, but on the kind of player-character, crew, faction, ship, or civilization you become along the way.

Our first project is where we are putting that idea to the test.

Our First Project

Our first game is currently using the working title Project Infinite Horizons. That is not the final launch title, but it is the name we are using while the game takes shape.

Project Infinite Horizons is a sci-fi roguelike deckbuilder about an experimental ship trying to find its way home.

The ship was built to do something dangerous: cross impossible distance in a way no one fully understands. When the jump goes wrong, the captain and ship are thrown into an unstable region of space, far from the version of Earth they came from.

At first, the goal seems simple.

Plot a course. Survive the route. Upgrade the ship. Protect the crew. Get home.

But something is wrong with the drive.

When a run fails, the ship does not simply die. It pulls the captain and vessel back to the moment they first entered the quadrant.

The reset is not clean.

Each return leaves more corruption behind. Routes shift. Encounters mutate. The map becomes stranger. Enemy behavior changes. The universe becomes less stable. The path back to Earth becomes harder to trust.

You are not just trying to get home.

You are trying to get back to the right Earth before corruption changes the route, the quadrant, or home itself beyond recognition.

The Design Promise

The heart of Project Infinite Horizons is this:

Every run is a tradeoff between becoming strong enough to survive and keeping the universe stable enough to reach the right Earth.

You can chase power. You can repair the ship. You can upgrade weapons, reinforce shields, alter your deck, take dangerous routes, protect your crew, or spend precious opportunities trying to reduce the corruption spreading through the map.

But every decision costs something.

A safer route may cost time. A powerful upgrade may come with risk. A repair may mean passing up a stronger card. A corruption-reducing choice may leave you weaker for the next fight. A desperate shortcut may get you closer to home, but expose you to something you are not ready to face.

That is the kind of tension we want the game to create.

Not just “Can I win this fight?”

But:

What am I becoming in order to survive?

The Ship Is the Character Sheet

The name Character Sheet Studios matters to us because we love games where identity is built over time.

In Project Infinite Horizons, your character sheet is not only a person with stats.

It is your ship.

It is your captain.

It is your deck.

It is the crew you trusted, the systems you upgraded, the damage you carried, the routes you chose, and the scars left by each failed attempt.

Some things may be lost when the universe resets. Some things may change. Some things may not return the way you remember them.

But the captain and the ship remain at the center of the journey.

They are the record of what happened.

They are what carries the story forward.

What We Will Share Here

This is the first Studio Update, and it will not be the last.

As the project develops, we will use this space to share progress in a way that is useful to players, not just a list of tasks completed.

That means design notes about systems we are building. Screenshots and visual updates as the game takes shape. Notes on card combat, crew decisions, route planning, ship upgrades, corruption, consequences, and the strange events you may encounter while trying to get home.

Some updates will be about the game. Some will be about the studio. Some will be about the decisions behind the work.

The rule for these posts is simple: they should be useful twice.

Useful to players because they explain what the game is becoming and why it may be worth following.

Useful to the studio because they help us clarify what we are building, what we believe, and what kind of games Character Sheet Studios exists to make.

Follow Along

Project Infinite Horizons is still in development. The name may change. The systems will keep evolving. The art, interface, balance, and structure will continue to improve.

But the core promise is already there:

A ship far from home.

A route that keeps changing.

A universe that remembers your failures.

A captain trying to reach the right Earth before corruption takes over.

And a game about who you become along the way.

We are glad you are here at the beginning.

Follow Character Sheet Studios for future updates, design notes, screenshots, and news as our first project continues to take shape.
